There's been a lot of talk lately about who the reigning champ is in the monitoring space when it comes to Cisco UCS. We're here today to put this to rest. Recently, Nimsoft took a swing at the title belt holders and Floyd did an excellent job of pointing this out. Check out this first edition of ZenCenter - and let us know if you want to be a guest (we'd love to have a live debate on any IT Operations topic).

To put this bluntly, simply displaying events on a console or showing useless pictures on a screen is NOT unified monitoring. Especially considering that you already get the UCS Manager free with your UCS. To quote Simon from the video, "If you don't have anything to say, just put a big picture on it."
A managed service provider does not want to look at things in terms of elements that are running. They've got to look at things in terms of providing their services for their customers. In order to truly instrument and monitor Cisco UCS, you must move away from elemental monitoring and drive toward service management/assurance. It's not enough to simply be able to monitor Cisco UCS as physical blades and chassis, VMware, and applications and claim to have a unified monitoring platform!
Saying all of this without being able to back it up would be a huge waste of time and honestly, be very detrimental to ones credibility. I'll let you be the judge here and see what a real dynamic view looks like from Zenoss.
