Zenoss Cares is our internal committee and volunteer program focused on finding ways for the Zenoss family to get involved in the Austin, Texas, community as well as to make an impact globally.
The annual Zenoss company picnic is always a blast, and we have added collecting school supply donations to the agenda. The picnic was this past Friday, and we collected items for Communities In Schools of Central Texas, an organization that supports schools in the Austin area.
The response was phenomenal! The day before the picnic, the donation boxes were filled with notebooks, pens, crayons, glue sticks and more. We even had one generous employee donate a whole box of prepacked school supply bags. How cool is that? 
One of the reasons the Zenoss Cares team chose to hold a school supply drive was so parents could get their children involved with picking out the items, and it’s worked beautifully.
We’re thrilled to have been able to help such a great organization, and we look forward to working with Communities In Schools again soon. Next week, our new employee orientation (NEO) class will work with Communities In Schools in a hands-on capacity as the organization gets ramped up for the start of the school year.
