San Jose, CA & Austin, TX – May 10, 2016 – Viptela and Zenoss today announced a formal partnership to enable joint customers to centrally monitor Viptela Software Defined-Wide Area Networks (SD-WANs) alongside the rest of their IT network within the Zenoss platform. The integration of Zenoss and Viptela provides a unified view of health status information from the Viptela vManage application in Zenoss to make IT infrastructures easier and less expensive to manage.
Viptela’s Director of Global Marketing, Lloyd Noronha, will present on the panel titled, "Modern Technologies in the IT Ecosystem" on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at GalaxZ 16, Zenoss’ annual user conference.
Many mid-sized and large enterprises need to connect tens, hundreds and even thousands of branches and retail locations over the WAN. The Viptela SEN (Secure Extensible Network) platform allows organizations to "mix and match" private and public IP connections such as MPLS, wireless LTE/4G, broadband and Ethernet to meet application requirements based on geographic location, bandwidth and whether they are based in the branch office, campus, data center or cloud. The Viptela vManage application provides configuration management and monitoring to diagnose and remediate problems across WAN networks.
The combination of Viptela vManage with Zenoss provides a single scalable architecture for monitoring SD-WANs and IT infrastructures in a centralized and holistic manner to optimize their performance and availability. From within Zenoss, IT and network operations personnel can access real-time intelligence on the health of the even the largest SD-WAN networks provided by vManage. This visibility includes:
A global view of both the Viptela SD-WAN and other network devices, applications and IT resources
The ability to visualize within the Zenoss dashboard Viptela SD-WAN networking and policy-based routing for optimizing application performance
Comprehensive health and performance metrics to detect, troubleshoot and quickly resolve problems regardless of whether they occur in the Viptela SD-WAN or another part of the enterprise network
"The extensible ZenPacks, or plugin mechanisms from Zenoss, are a differentiator that has customers in key verticals including financial, telecom and manufacturing integrating the two technologies," said Pat Emerson, Vice President of Business Development and Channels for Zenoss. "With this connectivity to a single vManage device, Zenoss discovers vEdge and vSmart devices, providing monitoring and alerting for hardware elements which include fans, power supplies, temperature sensors and much more that keeps businesses secure and free of disruptions."
"Together, Zenoss and Viptela enable enterprises to gain end-to-end visibility for monitoring both their network and IT infrastructures," said Ramesh Prabagaran, VP of Product Management and Partnerships for Viptela. "Centralizing health and performance data from Viptela SD-WANs in Zenoss helps customers reduce management costs and resolve problems before they can impact operations. We’re pleased to be partnering with Zenoss and integrating with their award-winning product."
