Why can’t we all just get along? It seems that just about everyday there is a new threat of or a lawsuit filing/ruling from a “real” company or a patent troll attempting to block competition, hurt innovation, or extort money. What if IBM acted this way? After all they have generated more patents than anyone for seventeen straight years.
End Of “Cloud”
Is it just me or are you tired of the “Cloud”. Oh, I’m not talking about the technology or its future; I’m simply referring to how everything is called a Cloud. Even the very definition by NIST is too broad to stop the amount of cloud washing in this industry. As the devs are leading the cloud revolution, it’s time for marketing to come back to Earth.
Android ICS
Waiting for ICS has been a painful experience. Oh, I’ve used Apple iOS and MSFT Windows 7 but their respective hardware offerings are less than exciting. However, Android device manufactures are creating some awesome devices. If only Android fragmentation wasn’t such a big issue! For now, I’m hoping for some new offerings early next year.
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3 has the potential to dramatically alter the course of Enterprise Virtualization. As an alternative to proprietary hypervisors technology from VMware and Microsoft, RHEV 3 looks to offer performance, scalability, management, and an Enterprise feature-set built on the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) hypervisor.
Microsoft Office for Android/iOS
Whether you like it or not, there is simply no substitute for Microsoft Office. I can understand why Microsoft would be hesitant to release Office for Linux, but a guy can dream. However, offering a true Office App for Android and iOS just makes sense. After all, the next generation consumer/IT professional cares more about their mobile than their PC!
