Zenoss Announces Free Training for Open Source Network Monitoring Project

Annapolis, MD - September 21, 2009 - Zenoss Inc., corporate sponsor of the award winning open source network monitoring project Zenoss Core, today announced it will host its second Zenoss Community Day on September 25. The daylong event is a precursor to the seventh annual Ohio LinuxFest, where Zenoss is a gold sponsor and exhibitor.

Zenoss Community Day will take place from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Hyatt Regency and Columbus Convention Center. The event is free and features instructor-led training on how to get the most out of Zenoss Core, the award-winning open source community project. In addition, there will be ample time for community discussion and networking. At the end of the day, Zenoss is hosting LinuxFest's pre-party at Barley's Brewing Company Ale House Number 1.

Ohio LinuxFest, which runs September 25 - 27 at the Hyatt Regency and Columbus Convention Center, is a conference for the Free and Open Source software communities. In addition to Community Day, Zenoss team members will be at booth A throughout the show and Zenoss Community Manager Matt Ray is presenting a session entitled "Sleep Soundly at Night: Open Source Network Monitoring with Zenoss Core" on September 26 at 5:00 pm.

The Zenoss Community, which continues to thrive with more than 75,000 members, just posted its 100th community contributed ZenPack (packages that add new functionality to Zenoss Core). In addition, Zenoss Core surpassed one million downloads on SourceForge, where it has been consistently ranked in the top 10 most active projects for over two years.

"The Zenoss Community is instrumental in the ongoing growth and success of the Core project. Community Day will kick off this year's Ohio LinuxFest with a focus on education and discussion of best practices in network management," said Mark Hinkle, Zenoss VP of Community. "LinuxFest 2009 has always been an excellent opportunity to meet open source enthusiasts and share ideas among other open source projects and we are excited to be able to participate once again."

Space is limited for Zenoss Community Day and registrations are being taken on a first come, first serve basis. For more information, and to register, please visit: http://community.zenoss.org/blogs/zenossblog/2009/08/21/zenoss-community-day--september-25th
